John F. Kellaher, 82, of Concord, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. Born in Boston in March of 1930, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Gladys (Talbert) Kellaher. He attended Boston Parochial schools, graduated from Boston College High School and in 1952 received a bachelor degree in Mathematics from Boston College. He continued his graduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. During the Korean Conflict, he served as a Colonel in the U. S. Army. For many years, prior to his retirement, Mr. Kellaher was a Mathematician at the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratory. A Concord resident since 1963, he was an active communicant of Holy Family Parish in Concord and enjoyed photography and birding. Survivors include two cousins, Ann M. Connolly of Jupiter, Florida and Frances M. Perron of Tucson, Arizona. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 28th from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER, followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 11 AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Friday in recognition of Mr. Kellaher's service to his country during the Korean Conflict.
