John J. Doyle, 75, a longtime Concord resident died suddenly on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Emerson Hospital. He was the cherished husband for 45 years of Mary (Keogh) Doyle. They met in Ireland and married in Drumkilly in 1972.
He was born in Concord on December 11, 1942 to his late parents, C. Edward Doyle and Mary (Reilly) Doyle. After attending Rose Hawthorne School, he was a member of the first graduating class from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1961. He then trained and became a talented Master Electrician, while furthering his studies at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
Mr. Doyle was the owner and operator of Quality Electric, Inc. in Clinton. He also devoted several years of employment to Digital Equipment Corporation as a Facilities Manager. For a portion of his time at Digital, he was transferred twice to Galway, Ireland during the 1980's. Subsequently, he retired from Hewlett-Packard in the early 2000's.
As a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, he embodied a lifelong, steadfast love for his family. He will be fondly remembered as an avid fisherman who immensely enjoyed chartering boats for numerous deep-sea fishing trips.
In addition to his wife, he will be deeply missed by four sons, Sean Doyle of Waltham, Colin Doyle of Waltham, Padraig Doyle and his wife Aislinn of Charlestown, and Liam Doyle of Waltham, one grandson, Cabhan Doyle, three sisters, Veronica Orpik of Plymouth, Sheila Spooner and her husband Frank of Concord, and Rosetta Moreau and her husband Tom of Concord, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Ryan Doyle, and brother to the late Charles Doyle.
Family and friends may attend visiting hours on Sunday, February 4th from 12 to 4 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. His funeral will be held on Monday, February 5th at 10 am from the Dee Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at St. Bridget's Cemetery in Maynard, where he will be laid to rest beside his son.
