John Colin "Jack" Chisholm, 95, of Concord, died peacefully at his home on 19 Thoreau Court, where he was born, with his family by his side on January 15, 2018.
He was born May 1, 1922, the son of the late Allan Daniel Chisholm and Ellen Theresa (Brennan) Chisholm.
He was a Concord firefighter for 28 ½ years prior to his retirement. He was also a charter member, former Captain and 53-year member of the Concord Minutemen. He was Grand Marshall in the Concord Patriots Day parade and served in the U. S. Army's 80th Division during WW II as a radio operator. He was a Life member of the 80th Division Veterans Association.
John was predeceased by his wife of 69 years Rose Katherine (Brothen) Chisholm who died in 2015 and by his daughter Anne Enman who died in 2017. He was the father of Kathryn Chisholm of Antrim, NH, Deborah Whitney and her husband Michael of Littleton, Sharon Melendy and her husband Thomas of Goffstown, NH, Maureen Gazaille and her husband Dennis of Edgartown, Rosemarie Harrison and her husband Stephen of Rowley, Colin Mark Chisholm of Concord and is survived by his late daughter Anne's husband Wesley of Antrim, NH. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and was the brother of the late Helen Rammelkamp, Allan, William and Edward Chisholm.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Sat. Jan. 20th at 1 P.M. at St. Irene's Church, 181 East St., Carlisle. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Concord.
