Jennifer Ann Bevins

Feb 16, 1963 — Jun 11, 2026

Jennifer Ann Bevins unexpectedly left this world on June 11, 2026, surrounded by family. With grace, positivity, and aplomb she battled cancer for the last year. Beloved by friends and family, she leaves behind her sister Mary and husband James MacGregor and her nieces Megan, Sarah, and Emily MacGregor.

She is predeceased by her parents Malcolm and Louise (Enright) Bevins of St. Albans, Vermont and her beloved brother Randall Bevins of Washington D.C. Born on February 16, 1963, her childhood was spent in St. Albans, Vermont with summer visits to her maternal grandfather's farm in Richford, Vermont.

Jen attended the University of Vermont earning a bachelor's degree in history. Expanding her horizons, she went on to obtain her master's degree in Higher Education from Michigan State. She went on to work for Boston University before accepting a position at Tufts University where she has been a valued and loved employee for over 35 years. Except for a brief stint at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the entirety of her career has been at Tufts University. Originally working in Residential Life, she eventually moved to Residential Facilities where she finished her career. Always accepting any challenge, during her tenure at Tufts she simultaneously managed a yearlong position at the campus post office, while maintaining her position at Facilities.

Jen has also left behind a large community of friends and co-workers who were her second family and true community. Her support of anything Tufts was remarkable, from cheering on the athletic teams, to creating a welcoming environment for students and four-legged friends alike. As a great lover and advocate of animals, she founded the campus "puppy playdate" on President's Lawn which brought together community members as well as Tufts staff, faculty, students, and of course, many, many dogs. Puppy playdate has become so popular; friends can view the weekly antics on Instagram's dogs_on_prezlawn. Jen could be found there most Saturdays with her golden retriever Bodhi and closest friend and housemate Kristen's black lab Neely.

Jen, with her happy smile, infectious laugh, and outgoing personality will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her love of all things Boston sports, in particular the Bruins and Patriots, attending many games at the Garden and Gillette over the years. Her devotion to her college teams also extended beyond the Jumbos of Tufts to her UVM Catamounts and the Spartans of Michigan State, wearing their signature green with pride. Jen's passion for sports came with it an unmatched wealth of knowledge: ask Jen any question about her teams and the answer you shall receive! She also enjoyed traveling across the US and Canada with Kristen to see her favorite country music artists, claiming Nashville among her favorite destinations.

Her passing has left a huge void in the Tufts community and beyond - as she touched and impacted so many in every facet of campus life for decades. We all cherish who she was and mourn her too soon passing. A celebration of Jen's life will be held at the Goddard Chapel at Tufts University at 10:30 a.m. on August 8, 2026, with a reception to follow at the JCC - and hopefully a memorial puppy playdate prior to the services.

In honor of her memory, donations to Kitty Connection In Medford (where she adopted her dear feline friend "Peachy"), the MSPCA, and Northeast Animal Shelter would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord, MA.
