Jeanette R. (Angelo) Macone, 87, of Maynard, formerly of Concord and Acton, died peacefully on Thursday, December 3rd at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was the beloved wife for 48 years of the late Walter J. Macone who died in 1997. They were married on September 4, 1948. Born in Lowell on September 17, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Mary Alice (Dion) Angelo. She grew up in Lowell, attended Lowell Public Schools, graduated from Lowell High School in 1946, and was a Communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell. Mrs. Macone moved to Concord in 1950 and was a generous supporter of Holy Family Parish at St. Bernard's Church in Concord. For several years, she enjoyed hosting Angelo family reunions on Strawberry Hill Road in Concord. A music lover, she enjoyed playing the Hammond Organ, and her family would often gather around and sing. In addition, she loved cats, the North Shore beaches in Salisbury and Seabrook, NH, and was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly J. Canoni of Kittery, ME, her grandchildren, Paula J. Simmons of Maynard and James J. Young of Northampton, her great grandchildren, Haley and Benjamin Simmons and Nina, Jacob, and Iris Young, her sister, Alice Rodger of Lowell, and her brother, James Angelo of Reading. She was also the sister of the late Paul Angelo and Walter Angelo. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 9 am in St. Bridget Parish, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445 (www.jimmyfund.org).
