Jean Porter Norment - age 69, died peacefully at her Concord, MA home in the presence of her loving family on the 6th of September, 2012. She was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Eloide Porter of Houlton, ME and is survived by her sister Diane P. Boyce of York, ME. Jean was born in Houlton, ME and raised in Melrose, MA. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1961 and received her Associates of Arts Degree in 1963 from Nasson College, Springvale, ME. Jean retired in 2009 from Dielectric Sciences, Inc., Chelmsford, MA, where she worked as an office and accounting manager for 22 years. She was the loving wife of Hillyer G. Norment, and beloved mother and mother-in-law, respectively, of Eric S. and wife Ann, Jeffrey L. and wife Mary, and Philip E. and wife Maureen Norment. Jean was a devoted grandmother of her eight grandchildren: Timothy H., Peter J., Laura M., Daniel H., Lukas H., Rachel C., Benjamin P. and Christopher H. Norment. Besides her devotion to family, particularly her children and grandchildren, Jean enjoyed travel, reading, crossword puzzles and was an excellent photographer. She will remain in the hearts and minds of all that knew her, and her strength of character, love, selflessness, courage, dignity, and humor will be sorely missed. Visitation will be held in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., Concord Center on Thursday September 13th from 12 Noon until 1 pm followed by a service in the funeral home at 1 pm.
