Jean M. (Blakeney) King, 86, of Concord died Sunday September 28, 2014 in Littleton. Born in Newton of July 27. 1928 she was the daughter of the late John W. and Sadie M. (Wing) Blakeney. She attended St. Jean L'evangelist parochial school in Newton, graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Newton Centre in 1946, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in French, from Regis College in 1950. A Concord resident since 1953, she was an active member of St. Bernard's Parish and later Holy Family Parish. She served the Church as Choir Director and ran the music ministry for over 40 years. She was also the organizer of the Circle of Friends group and a former member of the church's Sodality. Along with her late husband Donald, she was a participant in the many activities of the Concord Minutemen. Mrs. King taught private piano lessons in the Concord area for many years. She was the beloved wife of 53 years of the late Donald T. King and mother of Nancy E. Fillmore and her husband Chris of Boxborough, Donald T. King Jr. and his wife Sheila of Westford, Matthew King and his wife Barbara of Wrentham, Andrew J. King and his wife Pam of Danvers, Timothy B. King and his wife Judi of Dedham, Ellen King of Tennessee and Christopher J. King of Concord, and mother-in-law of the late Lynda King. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and was the sister of the late John Blakeney Jr., Lois M. Blakeney and Robert W. Blakeney. She also leaves her sister-in-law Jeanne Blakeney of Needham. Funeral will be held on Monday October 6th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10 am. Interment will follow in the family burial plot in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be on Sunday October 5th from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
