Jean Paul Gosselin, son of the late J. Paul Gosselin and Hilda E. (Robidoux) Gosselin, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at the age of 77 years at Edgewood Senior Community in North Andover, MA.
He was born in Hartford, CT and spent his childhood in Lake Garda and Bristol, CT. He attended St. Ann Grammar School, and St Anthony High School, graduating as Valedictorian of his high school class. He had an outgoing personality and was a friend to all. Even in difficult times he managed to maintain an optimistic point of view. Jean became an entrepreneur early in life and spent his after school hours delivering newspapers, managing a neighborhood lawn service, working at the Grand Union Supermarket and taking care of his favorite car, a black 57 Ford Fairlane convertible. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
After high school graduation, Jean completed his undergraduate education at Boston College where he continued to excel in all areas of campus life. He joined the College of Business Administration with a major in Accounting, was admitted to the College's Honors Program where he served as President, was elected to Sigma Nu, the Jesuit National Honor Fraternity as vice-president, was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, the national business fraternity where he was chancellor, joined the ROTC Brigade, served as Deputy Brigade Commander and was commissioned a lieutenant in the US Army upon graduation. Jean postponed active duty to attend Columbia University for graduate studies and then began serving in the Finance Corp at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana. Once completed, he entered the business world and explored various career options, finishing his professional life as CFO of North Hill Senior Community in Needham, MA.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Graff Gosselin, his daughters Kristen Gosselin and her fiancé Renard Charity of Needham, MA, Danielle Gosselin and her spouse Jonathan Fansmith of Washington, DC, four grandchildren, Olivia, Jason, Lila and Jane, his first wife, Joan McGregor, his sister, Cynthia Gosselin Wilusz and her spouse, Joseph Wilusz of Bloomfield, CT, as well as many nieces and nephews and relatives in Canada.
Jean's immediate family will gather privately on Friday, March 5th in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home in Concord, MA. For those who wish to attend the service remotely on Friday at 10:30 am, please access the live stream video below. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord.
