Janet Ryder Kottler, 77, a resident of Golden Pond Assisted Living in Hopkinton and formerly of Concord, died on December 15, 2020, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the wife of the late Herbert Kottler who died in 2002.
Jan was born in Plymouth on February 12, 1943, as the daughter of the late Hiram and Laura Ryder.
After graduating from Boston College with a master's degree, Jan was a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the Revere school system during her entire professional career. She will be remembered in part for her love of traveling and dancing. Jan's selfless nature showed throughout her life, especially as she cared for her husband throughout his cancer battle, and her mother, who also passed away from complication of Alzheimer's.
She leaves behind two stepchildren, Barry and Nina, as well as several cousins.
Jan will be laid to rest during a private burial service on Sunday, December 20th at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord.
