IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jane K.
Montague
December 21, 1936 – September 21, 2025
Jane K. Montague (Kennedy), a longtime resident of Concord, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, at the age of 88.
Born on December 21, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Violet Mae (Brewer) Kennedy and Russell Kennedy of New Victoria, Nova Scotia.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard A. Montague, with whom she shared many wonderful years. She was also predeceased by her sisters Mae and Margie, as well her brother, Russell.
Jane is survived by her two children, Dana P. Montague of Concord and Susan J. Patterson and her husband Jeffrey of Littleton. She was a devoted and caring grandmother to Stephen R. Patterson, United States Army, and Nicole T. Patterson of Palmer, Massachusetts, United States Army Reserves.
Jane's grandchildren were the lights of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them — from caring for them in their early years to celebrating their milestones as they grew into adulthood. Her constant presence, unconditional support, and gentle wisdom shaped their lives in ways they will treasure forever. Her home was always open, warm, and full of love for family gatherings, where she delighted in sharing her stories, her cooking, and her laughter with those she loved most.
Jane was a longtime resident of Concord, where she delighted friends and neighbors with her baking. She was especially proud of winning first place in a local pie-baking contest for her beloved apple pie recipe — a testament to her warmth and talent in the kitchen.
She is also survived by her brother James Kennedy and his wife Ailish of Concord, along with extended family in Nova Scotia: Kevin Kennedy; Rita Darroah and her husband Blair; Mar'Lynn MacNeil and her husband Peter; and Karen Tallack and her husband Patrick.
Jane's legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to those she held dear will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A remembrance service to honor and celebrate Jane's life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center, followed by burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
