On Thursday, June 28, 2018, James Vincent McGowan, accomplished New England artist, passed away at his Boxborough home suddenly at the age of 85. Jim will be forever remembered by his late wife, Frances Bullock McGowan, his children Carolyn Watt and husband Jimmy Watt, Robbin Marie Coss and husband Neil Coss, the late Maureen McGowan, James McGowan, Allison Fleming and late husband Richard Fleming, and Peter McGowan. Also, he is survived by his grandchildren, Melissa Anderson and husband Ben Anderson, Gregory Coss, Jody Watt, Stephanie Coss-Grimm and husband Chuck Grimm, Andrew Collier and wife Suzanne Collier, Michael Fleming, Daniel Fleming, and James Fleming and great grandchildren: Aidan, Victoria, Cameron, Kyler, Lilly, Zachary, Elijah, Cassandra, Emmeline, and Avery. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 89 Arlington Street, Acton, MA, directly followed by a reception in the parish hall located behind the church. Private burial will be at a later date.
