James A. Carrig, 66, of Lexington, formerly of Belmont died Friday April 27, 2012 in Burlington. He was born in Cambridge on August 3, 1945 and was a 1963 graduate of Belmont High School. He later graduated from Northeastern University in 1969 and received master's degrees from Syracuse University in the 1970's. A dedicated teacher, Mr. Carrig taught overseas in Ghana and at various locations in the United States. He also was employed by the former Digital Equipment Corp. as a technical writer. A Lexington resident since 1999, he traveled extensively for many years worldwide for work and for educational experiences. He was a loving, caring and understanding friend to many here and also to friends he met in his travels. Services will be private.
