Obituary

James G. Birmingham, 84, of Lincoln, originally from Dorchester, died Saturday April 18, 2015 in Boston. He was the husband of Carolyn O'Connor Birmingham. Born in Boston on June 30, 1931 he was the son of the late Vincent F. and Mary T. (Berlo) Birmingham. He grew up in Dorchester, was a 1948 graduate of Dorchester High School and a 1952 graduate of Boston College. From 1953 until 1956, Mr. Birmingham served as a Lieutenant JG in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He started as a broker in Boston with Proctor Cook and Company and later managed Private Investment Partnerships until the time of his death. For many years he was a member of the Market Technicians Association. An avid reader, he enjoyed discussing current events, economics and politics. He was the father of Stephen M. and his wife Paula of Cape Elizabeth, ME and Patrick J. of Hudson, NY and grandfather of Liam J. of Hudson NY. He was also the brother-in-law of Paul Vincent O'Connor of Los Angeles, CA, Mark E. O'Connor and his wife Kathryn of Fitchburg and the late David M. O'Connor and is survived by David's wife Pamela Lauzau of East Boothbay, ME. Funeral will be held Friday April 24th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER at 8:45 am followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Lincoln at 10 am. Interment with military honors will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Thursday April 23rd from 4 to 8 pm.
