IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline C.
Shagoury
October 4, 1930 – April 16, 2024
Jacqueline C. Shagoury peacefully passed away on April 16, 2024 while a resident at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA following a brief illness. Jacqueline, better known to many as Jackie and Nani to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a former resident of Millis, MA with her late husband, Michael Shagoury and of Framingham, MA.
Jackie was the only child of Elias and Mildrith Currier and grew up in Belmont, MA. She went on to college and majored in Sociology at Skidmore College in Sarasota Springs, NY. Her mother, Mildrith, passed away while she was in college. Later, her grandfather remarried Edna Varrell Currier who quickly became her second mom and a fast friend. After college, Jackie went on to become a flight attendant as she loved to travel and meet people. She later went to work for Newton Buying in Natick, MA as an employment recruiter. Throughout the years Jackie was also a nursery schoolteacher and her last profession was working in Holliston as a pre-school aide.
As an avid tennis player for many years, Jackie had a large circle of friends that got together often over lunch and probably some cocktails! She did love her scotch and was known to have tipped a few with her family and granddaughters! Jackie loved to read and enjoyed going to lunch and learn classes. Her favorite place to spend time was at the ocean in Maine, specifically in York, Maine, where there is a family cottage. Her favorite color was purple, and she loved her lilac bushes, rock garden and her vegetable garden in our childhood home in Framingham.
Jackie was a loyal friend offering help and a listening ear, vocal with some of her opinions, and was a terrible cook but good at going out to dinners! She had many favorite dining haunts and each had a favorite server and/or bartender! Many of her dinners with her late husband, Michael Shagoury, included some live music. She especially loved country music. The Red Sox and Bruins were her favorite teams and she could easily discuss the merits and pitfalls of each at length. Her TV was often tuned into one of their games while doing her beloved word search. Knitting was also a favorite pastime of hers. We often outgrew what she was knitting but her Afghans are cozy!
Jackie will be missed very much by her family. She leaves behind her three children, Anne Willander Boychuck and her favorite son-in-law, Dan Boychuck (Bigfork, MT), Jon Willander & Karen Fitzsimmons (Framingham, MA) and Rob & Maryann Willander (New Boston, NH). She leaves behind five grandchildren, Barrett Boychuck Quigley, Nicole Currier Boychuck, Danny Alexander Boychuck, Ashley Willander Davidson, and Briana Willander. Jackie was a great-grandmother to Graham Quigley, Wesley Quigley, Logan Davidson and Cameran Davidson.
In life, Jackie's love had no boundaries. In death, her love will remain boundless with her remains being reunited with her father and second mother in Amesbury, MA, with her birth mother in Belmont, MA and in York, ME where she had fond memories of spending time with family, her friends Cindy and David Cedrone and her beloved late friends, Winnie and Nancy Staples.
Donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine , 101 Summer St., Holliston, MA 01746 where she loved taking contemplative walks.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
