Paul Sheeran passed away on July 29, 2022, in Stow, MA at the age of 72. He passed peacefully at home after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born in Woburn, MA and graduated from Lawrence Academy in 1969. He attended Norwich University and graduated from Curry College. He worked in banking until taking an early retirement in 1994.
He was an excellent athlete, playing baseball, hockey and football at Lawrence and beyond. However, golf was his passion. He grew up at Winchester Country Club and later found his "home away from home" at Concord Country Club. He was Club Champion multiple times and participated in many State tournaments. Paul loved the "porch" and the friends who gathered there.
Paul was known for his dry humor and quick wit. He enjoyed bringing a bit of joy to those he loved. He was quiet but cared deeply for his friends and relatives. He was an avid reader of history and world geography, watched old movies, and was always encouraging of Cathie's work and golf goals.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, J. Paul Sheeran, DMD, and Lorraine Sheeran (Killian), his sisters Abigail Hill and Denise Sheeran. He is survived by Cathie Morat of Stow, MA, his partner of 40 years; nieces Meredith Hill Scheer (Gerard) of Trumbull, CT, Jennifer Hill Ward (Don) of Atlanta, GA, Amanda Hill Kluber (Corey) of Winchester, MA, their children, a great number of cousins in MA & KY, and longtime friends Ann and Ray McGuiggin.
A private service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, 300 Arnold Palmer Blvd., Norton, MA 02766, or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
