IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irina
Kalatskaya
January 25, 1979 – October 4, 2024
Irina Kalatskaya passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, October 4th, 2024 at the age of 45.
Irina was the daughter of Valiantsina and the late Aliaksandr Kalatski. She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Georges Paradissis and was the proud mother of their children, Sophia and Vasilis Paradissis. She leaves behind her sister, Dasha and her Aunt Gallina, who was an important person in her early life.
Irina was born in Minsk, Belarus. Her independence, motivation and determination came at a very young age. She excelled as a student and was enrolled in an advanced school of chemistry in the eighth grade. She earned a PhD in Biochemistry in Munich, Germany. She began her post-doctorate work at Sainte Justine's Hospital in Montreal, Canada.
While in Montreal, she met and married her soulmate, Georges where they had their first child, Sophia. Irina became interested in the field of Bioinformatics. They moved to Toronto, Canada where she worked for the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research and focused on delivering real solutions to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. After several years in Toronto and the birth of their second child, Vasilis, they moved to Carlisle, Massachusetts, where she flourished in a community she admired and contributed to wholeheartedly. Carlisle truly felt like home to Irina. For the last few years, she continued her role as associate director for EMD Serono.
Family was very important to Irina. She cherished her active involvement in the lives of her children and with her husband provided Sophia and Vasilis with many wonderful worldly experiences. She was an avid cyclist, swimmer, skater and cross-country skier. Irina enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Greece. Spending time at the beach and being near the ocean and in nature brought her happiness and tranquility. She made friends easily wherever she went and will be missed by many.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Burial will follow at Green Cemetery in Carlisle.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Irina's memory may be made to the cancer research organization of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home of Concord.
