Irene (Perry) Reiss died at home in Concord, MA on November 4, 2015. She was 83 years old and was a former resident of Lexington, Holbrook and Dorchester.
Irene grew up in Boston, and attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. There she developed a deep love of the art of Ancient Greece, Rome, and especially Egypt, becoming a collector of books on ancient art and a follower of contemporary archeological work.
Irene also studied opera and charmed audiences in recital.
She maintained her hand in painting, crafts and knitting for most of her life, as well as her love of opera.
Irene married William ("Bill") A. Reiss, Jr. in 1955 and was widowed in 1976. She was proudest of her work with Bill to design and construct their home with a classically inspired atrium in Holbrook, MA.
Irene leaves her beloved daughter Carmin, son-in-law Eric Green, and cherished grandchildren Nick, Eliza, Jessica, Eli and Rebecca and great-granddaughter Zoe.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday Nov. 15th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the home of Mrs. Reiss's daughter 52 Devens St. Concord MA.
