Obituary

Ingeborg Traulsen, 77, of Concord, died on Sunday June 5, 2016. She was the widow of Thomas Witherby, and the daughter of the late Fritz and Eva Traulsen of Rendsburg, Germany where she was raised. Ingeborg came to this country in 1960. Ingeborg was very civic minded and enjoyed her work at the Manpower Program that helped bring people out of poverty. She was an advocate for people with disabilities and was an active member of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Ingeborg was a friend to all and expressed this affection by cooking, be it for the local police department, her health care providers or her neighbors. She was active with the Concord Council on Aging. Ingeborg is survived by her daughter Wiebke Theodore and her son Eckart Noack, her son in-law Steven Theodore and her daughter in-law Lori Noack and her grandchildren Miranda and Nora Theodore, her sisters Heinke Brendler of Suffield, CT, and Gisela Pikarsky of Arlington, MA and by her brother in-law Sam Brendler. Ingeborg was loved by her extended family: her niece Liz Blackman and her husband Chet, her nephews Matthias and Thomas Brendler and their wives Suzanna Schlemm and Lucy Hitchcock and her grandnieces Phoebe, Violet and Lila. She will be missed by many cousins and friends in Germany and her beloved cat Tootsi. There will be a celebration of Ingeborg's life at the Concord Scout House 74 Walden Street, Concord, MA 01742 on Sunday June 19th at 4:30PM In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Open Table, www.opentable.org/donate/ or to Gaining Ground, www.gainingground.org/support-us.
