Howard M. "Howie" Maher, 78, of Concord, formerly of Lincoln, died Wednesday October 22, 2014 at his Concord home. He was the companion and friend of forty years of the late Ann (Farley) Rebillard. Born in Lincoln on December 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Raymond P. and Gertrude (Weeks) Maher. He attended Lincoln schools and was a 1935 graduate of Concord High School. He later attended Boston College, and has been a long time avid Boston College football fan. In his youth he enjoyed boxing at several clubs in the Lowell area. Mr. Maher was employed as a bartender at the former Fairway Restaurant and the Colonial Inn, both in Concord. He also was an owner and operator with his companion Ann, of the Fox Restaurant in New Hampshire. Survivors include his nephew David Maher of Westminster, his niece Deborah Sartori of Sudbury, his great niece Michelle Sartori of Sudbury, and by his late companion Ann's two sons, Philip Rebillard of Florida and Paul Rebillard of Switzerland. He was the brother of the late Raymond J. Maher. Funeral will be held Friday October 31st from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10 am. Interment will follow in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Thursday October 30th from 5 to 8 pm.
