Henrietta Biehl passed away on December 21, 2024 at Benchmark Senior Living at Robbins Brook in Acton. She was 96.
Born and raised in the Windy City, Henrietta's life was marked by devotion to family, community and personal passions. She attended St. Columbkille Church and School, later graduating with a focus on secretarial services. Her lifelong friendship with sidekick Angie was a testament to her loyal and caring nature. Henrietta was also a fierce defender of her two brothers, Bob and Jack, whom she held dear.
Henrietta began her professional career by founding a successful secretarial service, showing her entrepreneurial spirit and knack for organization. She later settled into her long-term role as Office Manager at Tompkins Printing Equipment Company, where she dedicated 30 years before retiring.
Henrietta's presence was felt beyond her professional life, as she actively participated in various organizations. She cherished her role as a den mother with the Cub Scouts of America, nurturing the development of young minds. Her passion for putting smiles on faces extended to her civic involvement, where she entertained at charity events and retirement homes as part of a professional clown group.
Henrietta's interests were as diverse as they were captivating. She was an avid runner in road races and had a great love for painting and sketching, often capturing the beauty she saw in the world around her.
Henrietta is survived by her only son Robert, daughter-in-law Heather, and precious grandchildren Alexander and Sophie, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love and dedication. Her brothers Bob and Jack preceded her in passing, leaving behind cherished memories.
A private committal service will be held at The Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Henrietta's memory can be made to the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats at www.catsontheweb.org , reflecting her affection for creatures great and small.
