Obituary

Helen H. Warriner, 103, of Westford, formerly of Acton, died peacefully on February 3, 2013 at Westford House in Westford. She was the beloved wife of the late Ben Warriner IV who died in 1973. They were married in 1948. Born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1910 she was the daughter of the late Dr. Kalman and Mrs. Elizabeth (Torok) Heindlhofer. She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York and attended Julliard School of Music in New York City. She was a first violinist in the Concord Orchestra for five years starting in 1960. She also played in string quartets wherever she lived. She played first violin in the New Jersey Symphony in the 1930's and 1940's. An Acton resident for many years, she was a member of the Acton Women's Club during the 1960's. She was an avid reader, sailor and hiker and life member of the Appalachian Mountain Club. She was the sister of the late Priscilla H. Shenk of Acton. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Edwin Shenk (Shirley) of Westford, Helen Mercer (John) of Easley, South Carolina, William Shenk (Betty) of Acton and Virginia Longley (Jonathan) of Andover, her great nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Mercer Aurandt (Hans), William Mercer, Scott Longley (Amanda) and Allison Longley, her two great grandnieces, Lisle Aurandt and Willow Aurandt. Service: CHANGE OF DAY AND TIME: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 10th at 11 AM in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER.
