Helen M. \"Meg\" (McWalter) Finan, 77, formerly of Concord, Mass., Danvers, Mass. and Deerfield, NH, died Wednesday October 19th in Portsmouth, NH. Born in Concord, Mass. on July 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Maurice McWalter and Jean (Stirling) McWalter. She attended Concord schools and was a 1952 graduate of Concord High School. She later received an Associate degree from Colby Junior College in New London, NH in 1954. Mrs. Finan retired in 1999 after over twenty years of employment as Secretary to the Principal at Deerfield Community School in Deerfield, NH. She enjoyed traveling, reading, red shoes and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the mother of Laurie Bowers of Bakersfield, California, Sean Finan of North Hampton, N.H., Timothy Finan of Milford, N.H., Kathleen Finan of Portland, Oregon, Margaret Barreto of Warrenton, Virginia and Daniel Finan of Portsmouth, N.H. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, two sisters, Nancy Forbes of Vienna, Virginia, and Molly Donohoe of Haverhill, Mass., two brothers, Maurice McWalter of Brewster, Mass. and Steve McWalter of Concord, Mass. and by her former husband Jack Finan of Bow, N.H. She was the sister of the late Thomas McWalter. Funeral will be held Tuesday October 25th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 10 am Interment will follow in St. Bernard\'s Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Monday October 24th from 4 to 7 pm.
