IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen M.
Geary
August 18, 1926 – September 27, 2023
Helen M. (Early) Geary, of Concord, MA, born on August 18, 1926, in Boston, MA, to her late parents, James and Bridget Early, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was the beloved wife of Donald (Don) F. Geary, who predeceased her on his 91st birthday, June 5, 2018, after 68 years of blissful marriage. Helen missed Don greatly in the years after he passed, but enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many, many extended family members. Helen was the best at keeping in touch.
Originally from Jamaica Plain, MA, Helen met the love of her life, Don, in 1947 at a dance. They moved to Concord, MA, where they lived their whole life, and started a beautiful family. Helen was the host with the most, often entertaining friends and family at their home and providing plenty of cocktails and traditional Irish music. She and Don had a passion for travel, something they passed along to their family.
She loved having her grandchildren over for sleepovers, where she spoiled them with homemade French fries and donuts and played hours of card games with them. In her later years, she loved weekly visits from her great grandchildren, letting them play with her walker and playing endless games of peek-a-boo.
Helen exemplified a life deeply rooted in her unwavering faith. When she could, she attended Mass faithfully, finding solace and strength in her prayers. She always prayed for others, especially in times of need.
She never turned down dessert, always enjoying the corner piece of cake because it had the most frosting and flower, and if you left frosting on your plate she'd happily help herself to it. She also never turned down a good cosmo. We hope everyone orders dessert the next chance they get, calls their loved ones, and has a drink of their choice in her honor to celebrate her tremendous legacy.
She is predeceased by her sisters, Mary Harrington and Ann Hayes. She leaves behind her son, James Geary of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, her daughter Diane (Geary) Reilly and her husband James of Marlborough MA, along with their three children, Katelyn Reilly of Leominster, her partner Morgan, and her three children, Cody and Kayleigh Piazza, and Reilly Patrick Sisson, Kristina Connaughton, her husband Michael of Framingham MA, and their two children Matthew and James, and Michelle Reilly and her partner Amanda of Oak Park, IL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families whom she cherished deeply. She will be missed by so many.
