Gloria (Wamboldt) Palmer, 92, of Acton died Friday January 3, 2014 at her Acton home. She was the beloved wife of 40 years of the late Patrick Palmer who died in 1991. Born in New Bedford on August 26, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Hugh McGuire Wamboldt and Rosanna (Arsenault) Wamboldt. She attended Acton schools and was a graduate of Acton High School. She later graduated from Beauty School in Jamaica Plain. For many years Mrs. Palmer owned and operated a beauty salon in West Acton, and later at her home in Acton. She loved sewing, knitting and needlepoint. She was the mother of Patrick 'Tack' Palmer and his wife Lisa of Acton, Lisabeth Lee Palmer and her husband Joel Bohy of Concord, Samuel Scott Palmer of Acton and the late Regina Palmer. She was the grandmother of Kelsey Erin Palmer of Boxborough and Jonathan Palmer of Ashburnham, and the sister of Gladys Wamboldt of Hyannis and the late Hugh 'Sparky' Wamboldt of Pepperell. Cemetery: Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Service: A funeral service will be held Tuesday January 7th at 11 am in Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, Concord Road, Acton.
