Gerald R. McCully, 82, of Carlisle died Wednesday June 15, 2011 in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of 49 years of Shirley P. (Davidson) McCully. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on May 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Sherman McCully and Jessie (Hubley) McCully. He attended schools in New Brunswick, received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, England. Mr. McCully came to the United States in the late 1950's and was employed for many years as an electrical engineer at MIT Lincoln Lab in Lexington, retiring in 1991. An outdoors lover, Mr. McCully enjoyed gardening, landscaping and wildlife. In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by his daughters Carla A. McCully of Chelmsford and Valerie L. McCully of Carlisle, and his brother Lawrence George McCully of Ontario, Canada. A visitation will be held on Monday June 20th from 9:30 to 10 am in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 10 am.
