Gale Russell Nash passed away peacefully on September 9, 2022, at an assisted living facility in Concord, MA. She was 78.

Mrs. Nash was born in Washington, D.C. on February 22, 1944. She attended the National Cathedral School in Washington D.C. and then went on to attend Mount Vernon Seminary in Washington, D.C. and Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. Mrs. Nash is the daughter of Frank M. (Scoop) Russell and Marian Phebe Gale Russell. She was wed in 1970 to Philip Vaughn Holberton and again in 1982 to Joseph Edward Nash.

Mrs. Nash was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She lived a life filled with love surrounded by friends and family. She was vibrant and joyous, enjoyed a life filled with music and dancing, and connected naturally with others. Her humor, wittiness and caring nature will live on in her surviving family.

She was devoted to her children and stepchildren's education while at the same time holding individual contributor and managerial roles at Time, Inc., The Boston Company, and Brooks Brothers. She also moved several times in support of her husbands' careers, including to Bronxville, NY, Glen Ridge, NJ, Hamilton, MA, and Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Nash is survived by her husband, Joseph Edward Nash of Santa Fe, NM, three children, Matthew Russell Holberton of New York, NY, Alexandra Holberton Wight of Concord, MA and Theodore Russell Nash of Denver, CO and two stepchildren Elizabeth Nash Eriksen of Falls Church, VA and Timothy Joseph Nash of San Mateo, CA. She is also survived by her brother Morgan Niles Russell of Delray Beach, FL and her first husband Philip Vaughn Holberton of Wolfeboro, NH. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's in the-Fields Episcopal Church in Lincoln, MA. Her ashes will be laid to rest by her family alongside her parents at the Fairlee Village Cemetery in Fairlee, VT.
