Frank Lewis Raposa, age 92, of Manchester VT, formerly of Concord MA, died April 30, 2026 at Equinox Terrence in Manchester Center VT, after battling dementia.
Born in Providence RI on January 24, 1934, Mr. Raposa was the son of Joseph and Mary (Costa) Raposa. He grew up in East Providence RI, and graduated from La Salle Academy in 1952. While in high school he was a Boy Scout, participated in the band and was a high school track and field athlete. Frank enlisted in United States Coast Guard and proudly served 4 years of active duty and an additional four years in the Coast Guard reserve. Frank attended and graduated from University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Frank was awarded two Masters Degrees, one from Rensselaer Polytechnical University and Northeastern Eastern University.
Frank’s career spanned from 1960 until retirement in 2004, working for United Technologies, NASA, Department of Transportation, Failure Analysis and finally as an independent consultant.
Frank was lifelong learner and an avid reader of US History. In his spare time, he relaxed playing golf. Frank was also a patron of the arts attending local theater in FL, RI, CA, MA and VT.
A resident of Vermont since 2003, he lived in Concord from 1967 to 1990.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Angelina (Anessi) Raposa. He is survived by his three children, Elizabeth Raposa of Brattleboro, VT; Joseph Raposa and James Raposa, both of Arlington, VT. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also the father to the late Thomas Raposa.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center on Friday, May 8th beginning at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Concord, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frank L Raposa, may be made to Equinox Terrace, 324 Equinox Terrace. Manchester Center VT 05255 or to BAYADA Hospice, 190 South Main Street, Ruland VT 05701.
