Obituary

Frank J. Girardi, Jr., age 75, longtime resident of Weston, died at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on December 8, 2023, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband and soul mate of Andrea (Costanzo) Girardi, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Born on January 21, 1948, he was the son of the late Frank and Yolanda Girardi. He had fond memories from childhood working on his father's farm. Frank graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology, AS in Architectural Engineering and later graduated with a BS in Industrial Technology from Northeastern University.

Frank held a number of management and executive positions at high tech companies, including Honeywell Information Systems, Prime Computer, Genesys Software, Edify, Financial Fusion and Sybase. Over the years, he received a number of awards recognizing his achievements and excellence. His vision, leadership, and winning spirit were "the magic" that made things happen in all of his endeavors. At Edify, Frank received the organization's highest honor for his contributions to the company's IPO success. Later in his career, Frank formed his own consulting firm, The Falmouth Group. In addition to his own successes, Frank was a mentor to many, including his "team" of employees. He shared his knowledge and experience freely, and enjoyed helping others achieve their professional and personal goals, whether it was strategizing about how to win a new contract, brainstorming to solve a problem, or helping someone figure out how to buy their first house. In so many ways, Frank had a significant impact on the lives of many members of his work family.

Frank will be remembered for his enthusiastic passion for luxury automobiles. Over the years, he took pride in meticulously caring for his own cars, and would often encourage friends to purchase similar vehicles. Frank adored his cats, who were fittingly named to match the car models he acquired over the years: Mercedes, Portia, Beemer and Carrera. He also enjoyed fishing, and despite often getting seasick during these excursions, he loved organizing charter-fishing trips with friends. Frank held season tickets with the New England Patriots for over 50 years. A loyal fan, he supported the team during good times and bad, including going to two Super Bowls. Of the many wonderful qualities Frank embodied as both family member and friend, his signature loud, contagious laugh that could fill a room will be forever missed.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by a brother, David Girardi and his wife Deborah of Naples, FL, along with one niece Francesca Girardi and two nephews, David Tyler and James Girardi, and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Costanzo.
