Frances Esther (Bullock) McGowan, age 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home at 270 Littlefield Road, Boxborough, MA on the morning of Friday, January 27, 2017. She was born on February 9, 1935 in Boston, MA. She is survived by her loving husband James V. McGowan and her devoted children: Carolyn Watt and son in law Jimmy Watt, James McGowan, Robbin Coss and son in law Neil Coss, Allison Fleming, and Peter McGowan. Also, Frances is survived by her close siblings: Mary Bullock, Claire O'Brien, Robert Bullock, and Dorothea Juno-Johnston as well as her 8 grandchildren: Melissa Collier, Gregory Coss, Jody Watt, Stephanie Coss-Grimm, Andrew Collier, Michael Fleming, Daniel Fleming, and James Fleming and 8 great grandchildren: Aidan Coss, Victoria Coss, Cameron Coss, Kyler Coss, Lilly Collier, Zachary Collier, Elijah Grimm, and Cassandra Coss. She was also the mother of the late Maureen McGowan. Frances had a wonderful extended family as well as many friends, too numerous to mention by name. Her hobbies included gardening, dancing, playing board games, traveling, walking, enjoying dessert, and spending time with her family. Services will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 10 am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 89 Arlington Street, Acton, MA, followed by a reception in the parish hall located behind the church after the services. Private burial will be held at a later date.
