Obituary

F.M. Dollina Borella, 73, of Concord, passed away on November 15, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Concord, Massachusetts on January 2, 1948, daughter of the late Domenic and Margaret M. (Greeno) Sorrenti. After graduating from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1965, Dollina pursued an Associate Degree from Newton Junior College and later attended Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics working for many years in cosmetology while ultimately retiring from MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Dollina was a dedicated member of The First Religious Society in Carlisle (Unitarian Universalist Church) volunteering on the Social Action Committee, and leading the Butler Middle School (Lowell, MA) community outreach program, supporting children in need. Her commitment to volunteer work and charity did not stop there, but continued on with work for Look Good Feel Better helping women going through cancer treatment, Cradle to Crayons, The Democratic Town Committee of Carlisle, Lowell Humane Society, Greenpeace and many more. Her love for the arts showed in her support of the Arts League of Lowell, Museum of Fine Arts, Peabody Essex Museum, and The Lyric Stage Company of Boston. As a proud Massachusetts and Concord resident she supported land conservation through The Trustees, The Massachusetts Audubon Society, history through the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, and public broadcasting through WGBH. Dollina's interests and passions included her grandson, Domenic, travel, taking Salsa and Line Dancing lessons, studying French, sharing her love of Concord history by giving walking tours to friends and family, reading and being a member of the Medford Library Tuesday Night Book Club, attending countless plays and musicals, and laughing with her lifelong group of friends better known as "The Posse". Preceded in death by parents Domenic Sorrenti and Margaret (Greeno) Sorrenti, Dollina is survived by daughters Christina Borella and Gina (Troy) Stark, grandson Domenic Stark and brother Donald (Sandy) Sorrenti.
