Faustina "Tina" (Cuteri) Signoretta, 90, of Concord, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her Concord home. She was the beloved wife for 40 years of Nicholas J. Signoretta who died in 1982. They were married in 1942 in Brooklyn, NY.
Born in Reggio, Calabria, Italy on February 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Virginia (Onorata) Cuteri. She came to the United States at the age of 13 and attended Brooklyn public schools.
During World War II, she helped support the war effort by working in a factory in Brooklyn.
For over fifty years, Mrs. Signoretta was a surrogate grandmother to generations of Concord families.
A Concord resident since 1956, she was a communicant of the former Our Lady Help of Christians Church in West Concord. Most recently she was a communicant of Holy Family Parish at St. Bernard's Church in Concord where she was a member of the Circle of Friends. She was an active volunteer in the Gift Shop of the Friends of the Aging in West Concord. A talented cook, she was well known for her Italian meatballs and her Christmas cookies.
Survivors include her children, Annette Doty and her husband Clark (Van) Doty Jr of Plymouth, Dominic Signoretta and his wife Daveline of Frisco, TX, Virginia "Ginnie" Whalen and her husband William of Concord and Mary Kimball and her husband Scott of Ashby, her Grandchildren, Clark (Van)Doty III of Kingston, Lisa DeNatale of Locust Valley, NY, Amber Porter of Valley Ranch, TX, Adam Signoretta of Frisco, TX, William Whalen III of Cambridge, Brian Whalen of Concord, and Nicholas Kimball of Ashby, her Great Grandchildren, Kendra and Lydia Doty, Jack, Gage and Nick DeNatale and Sydney Whalen and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 29th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10 am.
Burial will be in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 28th from 3 to 7 pm in the Dee Funeral Home.
