Obituary

Ernest P. "Hap" Walker, of Weston, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024 in his sleep following a battle with cancer. He was 79.

Born in Boston on January 17, 1945, he was the son of the late Mark and Gertrude (Fries) Walker. While growing up in Newton, he graduated from Newton South High School before pursuing a degree in engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Hap took up golf in his younger years, and although he was not the best player on the course, he always loved the game.

An accomplished Engineer and longtime employee for Teradyne, Hap holds numerous patents in the electronics industry.

He will be remembered as a dedicated family man and a model railroad enthusiast. Over the years, he took pride in perfecting his homemade maple syrup, which started by tapping sugar maples on his Weston property. Many relatives, friends and neighbors were beneficiaries of the finished product.

Hap will be forever missed by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marsha Walker, his daughter, Shannon Lightbody and her husband Tom of Reading, his son, Justin Walker and his wife Bernadet of Pleasanton, CA, six grandchildren, Haley, Sophie and Isabelle Lightbody and Ella, Charlotte and Andrew Walker, as well as two siblings, Anne Dorny and John Walker, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Hap was also the brother of the late Mark Walker.

A celebration of life is planned at the Walker Family Home on Saturday, October 12th from 2 to 6 pm. For further information about the celebration of life, contact Marshalact@gmail.com.
