Eric Gloster Reid, 60, of Concord, MA, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on September 28, 2022. He was the loving husband of Pamela Kramer Reid and the adoring father of Samara Mae Reid.
He was born in Roslindale on September 18, 1962, as the son of the late Warren D. Reid, Jr. and Marrilyn G. Reid of Cambridge. He attended Cambridge Pilot School, before continuing his studies at Morehouse College and New York University.
For over 25 years, he worked in the Office of Student Financial Services at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.
A musician, Eric played guitar and bass, beginning in his younger years with his good friend, David Gilmore. An eclipse chaser, he led his family on adventures to view solar eclipses in Aruba and Grand Island, NE. A thinker and a talker, he savored tossing ideas back and forth across a table, surrounded by those he loved.
In addition to his wife, Pam, and daughter, Samara, those left behind to cherish his memory include his sister, Angela A. Reid Ellis and her husband George of Fishers, IN, his sister-in-law, Elisa Beebe, her husband David, and their children, Jaxon and River of Wayland, MA, his aunts, Mary J. Reid of Lexington, MA and Judith Gloster of East Orange, NJ, his niece, Arielle Reid Faria, his nephews, George Scott Ellis and David R Ellis, his cousins, Brian Warfield of South Africa and Todd Warfield of Boston, and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Eric's graveside funeral service on Sunday, October 2nd at 10:30 am in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. The plot is located in the Knoll section of the cemetery located at 361 Bedford Street, Concord, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society , Rosie's Place , or The International Astronomical Union .
Arrangements are under the care of Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
