Elizabeth "Betsy" (Barry) Wood, 85, of Concord, died Monday, June11, 2018 at her Concord home. She was the beloved wife for 64 years of Warner E. "Woody" Wood. Born in Cambridge, MA on November 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Leo and Helen (Kearney) Barry. She attended Cambridge public schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1950. For the past 30 years, Mrs. Wood was employed as a noon aid at the Thoreau School in Concord. Previously, from 1950 until 1967, she worked as an Accounting Machine Operator for Bank of Boston. A Concord resident since 1958, she was a communicant of the former Our Lady Help of Christians Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed taking painting and pottery classes, making arts and crafts and sewing. An avid bargain hunter, her Saturdays were spent enjoying yard sales. In addition to her husband, Warner, she is survived by 2 daughters; Kathleen Kagno and her husband Dana of Bolton and Maureen Giese and her husband Robert of Concord, 3 grandchildren; Meghan Finn and her husband Matt of Holliston and Jack Hunter Giese and Owen Ryder Giese, both of Concord, 2 great grandchildren; Ellen and Patrick Finn, both of Holliston, 1 brother, Joseph Bruce Barry of Bath, Maine and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Jean Gibson, Ellen March, Michael Barry, Daniel Barry and William Barry. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 13th at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 14th from the Dee Funeral Home at 9:30 followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
