Eleanor M. (Dimery) Lombardo, 84, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Concord, Mass. died Thursday April 14, 2011 at Shell Point Hospice in Fort Myers, Florida. She was the beloved wife of 64 years of Michele G. Lombardo.
Born In Marlborough, Mass. on July 7, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Vincent Dimery and Mary (Kane) Dimery. She attended Maynard schools and was a 1944 graduate of Maynard High School. She later received her Nursing degree from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Brighton in 1947.
From 1958 until 1974 she was employed as School Nurse at the former Brooks School in Concord after serving for a time as Assistant Night Nursing Supervisor at Emerson Hospital in Concord.
She was a former member of the Concord Emblem Club and served as a volunteer for Concord's Bicentennial Celebration in 1975.
A resident of Cape Coral since 1988, she was a member of the Ladies of the Elks at the Cape Coral Elks Lodge.
She was the beloved wife of 64 years of Michele G. Lombardo and the mother of Patricia A. Iannuzzo and her late husband Raymond of Pepperell, MA., Jeanne M. Rose and her husband James, David M. Lombardo and his wife Alice and Mariellen McDermott and her husband Larry, all of Cape Coral, FL. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her brother William Dimery of York, ME. She was predeceased by 2 grandchildren and by her sister Dorothy Moynihan of Concord.
Funeral will be held Thursday April 21st from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 10 am followed by a funeral Blessing at Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord at 11 AM.
Interment will follow in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday April 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
