Eleanor Howell, 94, of Foxboro, formerly of Mansfield, Concord, & Arlington, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 9th at the home of her son surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late George Howell of Concord. Born in Somerville on September 2, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ellen Smith. She attended Arlington Public Schools and graduated from Arlington High School in 1938. For twenty five years, Eleanor was employed as a medical secretary in Dr. Lahey's office at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. More recently she worked in the Concord school system as a cafeteria worker in the Alcott and Ripley schools. A Concord resident since 1963, she was an avid Red Sox fan and lifelong member of Trinity Covenant Church in Lexington. She devoted her life to her only son Richard (Dick) and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Dick and his wife Lori of Foxboro and their two children Christopher and Benjamin. She was also predeceased by her brother, Paul Smith. Visitation will be held on Saturday June 13th from 9:30 to 10 am at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 10 am. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
