Eleanor M. (McHugh) Hopkins, 81, of W. Stewartstown, NH, formerly of Acton, MA and Concord, MA, died on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Hopkins, Sr.
Born in Concord on May 14, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Alice (McNamara) McHugh. Ellie was a graduate of Concord High School.
She formerly worked at Littleton House, but took immense pride in her role as a devoted mother to four children. Ellie enjoyed many family trips, loved watching golf, was especially proud of her Irish heritage. For 16 years, she happily resided in W. Stewartstown, embracing the company, good times, and beautiful scenic area.
Ellie leaves behind four children, Gail S. Rimbach and her husband Phillip of Ashburnham, Richard C. Hopkins, Jr. of Concord, Timothy P. Hopkins and his wife Mary of Groton, and Matthew F. Hopkins of W. Stewartstown, NH, two grandchildren, Nathan A. and Meaghan M. Hopkins, both of Manchester, NH, three brothers, Michael McHugh of Concord, Robert McHugh of Maynard, and Charles McHugh of Concord, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Dorothy Rush, Elizabeth Haab, James P. McHugh, Francis C. McHugh, Jr., Alice Ryan, George E. McHugh, William P. McHugh, Paul R. McHugh and Edward J. McHugh.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours on Sunday, January 13th from 2 to 5 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Her funeral will take place on Monday, January 14th at 9 am from the Dee Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord.
