Eleanor (Baker) Darling, of Concord, died Friday, March 9, 2012 at Concord Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Lewis O. Darling who died in 1983. Born in Concord on September 17, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Jesse F. and Gertrude (Lawrence) Baker. She attended Concord public schools, graduated from Concord High School in 1938 and attended a secretarial school in Waltham. For many years, prior to her retirement at the age of 80, Mrs. Darling worked as an insurance agent at Appleby and Wyman Insurance Company in Concord. A life-long Concord resident, she was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, rug braiding, chair caning and was a longtime member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord. Survivors include 1 son, David W. Darling of Concord, 1 daughter, Carol Sellitti of Lake DeFuniak Springs, Florida, 2 grandchildren, Michael Sellitti of Martha's Vineyard and Marcie Fuhs of Lowell, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Shirley Leavitt of Concord and Marian Wilson of Cotuit. She was also the sister of the late Ruth Wilkins, Faye Emerson and Elizabeth Gray. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12th from 9 to 10 AM at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center followed by a funeral service in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home on Monday at 10 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. John Lombard, Senior Minister of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord. Burial will be in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord where Rev. Dr. Lombard will read the committal prayers.
