Eileen (Carrigan) Powers, 66, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Concord, MA, Mt. Vernon, NH and Mesquite, NV died Monday, December 7, 2015 in Phoenix following a brief illness.
Born in Concord on February 2, 1949 she was the daughter of the late Philip and Betty Carrigan. She attended Concord schools and graduated in 1967 from Concord-Carlisle High School where she lettered in Cheerleading. She had a beautiful singing voice and played Ado Annie in the school play Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Mixed Chorus and the Madrigal Choir.
During the 1970's, Eileen was employed at Concord Medical Associates in Concord
She was a dedicated mother and raised her family in Mt. Vernon, New Hampshire. She was an active volunteer in the Mt. Vernon schools. Most recently, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren that she adored.
Survivors include her daughter, Kara Menke and her husband Ben of Arizona, her son, Mark Powers and his friend Lynne McSwain of North Carolina, her grandchildren, Jaxson Menke and Tenley Menke, both of Arizona, her sister, Maureen Read and her husband Truman "Hank" of Concord and Kevin Carrigan of Rockport, aunt of Jay and Patrick Read and Caitlin and Philip Carrigan and many aunts, uncles and several cousins. She was the mother of the late Jennifer Powers and sister of the late Philip Carrigan and John "Jack" Carrigan.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, January 17th at 9:30 am at the Rosary Academy Chapel, Watertown, MA 02472.
