Eileen J. (Chambers) Meehan, 89, of Concord, formerly of Somerville died Sunday February 3, 2013 at her home. She was the beloved wife of 44 years of the late Charles P. Meehan. Born in Cambridge on September 4, 1923 she was the daughter of the late James J. Chambers and Hannah (Murphy) Chambers. She attended and graduated from St. John's Parochial School in North Cambridge, and later received her R.N. from Northeastern University, and her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology from Harvard University Extension School. Mrs. Meehan was employed as an R.N. at several hospitals in the Cambridge area. A long time Somerville resident, she came to Concord in 1990 and was an active member of the Concord Council on Aging. She was also a volunteer with F.I.S.H. in Concord and with numerous church organizations. She was the mother of Mary E. Ingegneri and her husband Dominic of Concord and Margaret M. Meehan and her husband Hal Shubin of Belmont, grandmother of Katie Ingegneri and Jake and Sergei Meehan, sister of Julia Murphy of CT and the late James Chambers and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cemetery: Interment will follow in the family burial plot in Cambridge Cemetery. Visitation: Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Thursday Feb. 7th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Service: Funeral will be held Friday Feb. 8th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9 am followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10 am.
