CONCORD- Dr. Peter N Kondon of Concord, Mass passed away peacefully on Friday May 18, 2018. He was 89. Dr. Kondon was born in Peabody , Mass. to Nicolas and Georgia ( Lalikos ) Kontares of Etylon, Greece in 1928. He graduated from Peabody high school in 1945. After 2 years in the Coast Guard he graduated from Brown University in 1951 with a degree in economics. He spent a year in a chemistry fellowship before enrolling at Tufts University Dental School and graduated in 1957. It was there he met Ruth Shirley Anderson of Rockport, Mass. and they were married in June of 1957. They went to Montefiore medical center in Bronx, NY for a year before settling in Concord to raise their family. He built the Concord Dental building which serves the community to this day. Dr. Kondon was a member of the Concord Country Club for 51 years, the Mass Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontics and practiced for 50 years. He was a founding Father of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lexington, Ma. He also was a co founder of Concord youth hockey. He was predeceased by his parents, 6 siblings and his beloved Ruth. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Kondon Toth and her husband Dr. Thomas Toth of Sudbury, Ma, his son Dr. Nicholas Kondon and his wife Lauren of Lincoln, Ma, his son Walter Kondon and his wife Angela of Rumford, RI, and his 8 Grandchildren. He is also survived by his second wife, Julie and her daughter Samantha. Visiting hours will be held at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street in Concord Center on Monday May 21st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. There will be a private burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. A celebration of his life will be held at the Concord Country Club on Saturday July 21st beginning at 4 pm. Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Tuesday May 22nd in recognition of Dr. Kondon's service to his country in the U. S. Coast Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ruth S.
