James T. McMahon, former resident of Litchfield, New Hampshire died on May 5, 2015 surrounded by his family. Jim was the beloved husband of Rose Marie McMahon of 62 years. He was a devoted father of Brendan McMahon and his wife Pamela of Middlesex, VT, RoseAnne Moreau and her husband Michael of Maynard, MA, Shawn McMahon of Milford, NH, Paula Lockard and her husband Dan of Milford, NH, Katie Breen and her husband Edward of Salem, NH, and Megan Keefer and her husband Merrill of Pleasanton, CA. Jim was the cherished grandfather of fourteen grandchildren and great-grandfather of eight. He was the brother of the late Jack McMahon and the late Elizabeth Callahan. He is survived by his dear sister, Patricia Wheeler.
Jim served in the United States Navy in the Korean War from 1950-1954.
Jim received his Doctorate of Psychology from Boston University. He practiced with his wife, Rose Marie at McMahon Counseling Services for many years in the Nashua, New Hampshire area.
Jim and his wife, Rose Marie retired to New Bern, North Carolina, where he pursued his passion and second career as a writer of several books. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family. He enjoyed his garden and watching the many birds that made his yard their home. Jim had a great passion for singing.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 9th, at 9:30 am at Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord, MA. Followed by interment with military honors at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
