Dorothy H. Rappoli, 89, of Peabody, formerly of Lincoln, died Saturday April 2, 2016 in Danvers, She was the wife of 48 years of the late Arthur E. Rappoli.
Born in Boston on June 2, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. Keenan and Frances A. (Heukamp) Keenan. She attended parochial schools in Roslindale and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in West Roxbury in 1943.
Mrs. Rappoli was employed for several years as a switchboard operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph in Roslindale. She was a communicant at Holy Name Church in Roslindale until moving to Lincoln in 1957.
In Lincoln she was active as a Brownies, Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, and as a communicant at St. Joseph's Church. An avid traveler, her and her late husband enjoyed many trips together.
She became a resident of Brooksby Village in Peabody in 2004.
She was the mother of Edward A. Rappoli and his wife Janet of Stoughton, William R. Rappoli of NH and Carol A. Rappoli of Bradford, grandmother of Mark E. Rappoli and his wife Melanie and their children Mason and Mina, and Mark's daughter Samantha, all of Stoughton, Lisa M. Rappoli and her son Xavier of Stoughton, and Laura E. Politano and her husband Justin and their children Charlotte, Benjamin and James, all of Stoughton. She was also the sister of Patricia J. Murphy of West Roxbury and the late Joseph B. Keenan.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday April 8th at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church, 142 Lincoln Rd., Lincoln.
Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery.
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center will be held on Thursday April 7th from 4 to 7 pm.
