Dorothy Ellen (Day) Harding, 89, of Concord died Friday January 25, 2019 in Concord. She was the beloved wife of 53 years of the late Robert W. Harding who died in 2001. Born in Arlington on May 26, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Edythe (Porter) Day. She attended Arlington public schools and was a 1947 graduate of Arlington High School. Mrs. Harding became a resident of Concord in 1952 where she raised her family and worked in the family owned and operated R. W. Harding Trucking Co. She was a member of the former Concord Emblem Club. For many years she enjoyed her summers in New Hampshire and her winters in Florida. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and trips to Foxwoods. She was the devoted mother of Marsha Higgins of North Reading, Patricia Dee and her husband Leonard of Westford, Robert Harding Jr. and his partner Melanie Smith of Shapleigh, ME, Kimberly Burke and her husband Daren of Chelmsford and Sharon Shapiro and her husband Andrew also of Chelmsford, loving grandmother of Anthony Higgins and his wife Paula, Thomas Higgins and his wife Christina, Zachariah and Emma Harding, Katelyn, Jacob and Benjamin Burke and Rachel and Jessica Shapiro and great grand nana of Christopher Higgins. She was also the sister of Frank Day of Arlington and his late wife Ruth. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 30th from 5 to 8 pm at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. A funeral service will be held at the Dee Funeral Home on Thursday, January 31st at 10 am followed by interment in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
