Dorothy (Wilkinson) Griffin, 95, of Tyngsboro, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Josephs Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Griffin. Born in Boston on August 15, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Edward Henry and Anne (Hayes) Wilkinson. She attended Boston public schools and graduated from Cazenovia Academy in New York. She attended Temple University, Boston University and graduated in 1972 from Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire with a Bachelor Degree in Education. During the 1970s, Mrs. Griffin taught third grade at Main Dunstable School in Nashua. She retired in 1979.She was devoted to her family and was engaged in many civic and educational causes.Survivors include; Constance Jeannie Bartovics and her husband Al of Pepperell, G. William Griffin and his wife Anne of Medford, Sheila V. Griffin of Milford, CT, Elizabeth A. Vallerand and her husband Donald of Tyngsboro, 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Russell M. Griffin of Milford, CT.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge following the funeral service, where Rev. Miller will read the committal prayers.
Visitation:
Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, July 28th from 5 to 7 PM.
Service:
Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 29th at 10 AM in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Diane Miller of The First Religious Society in Carlisle.
