Dorothy M. (Perilli) Wuorio, of Pawleys Island, SC, formerly of Bolton, MA, affectionately known as Dottie, died in Boston on November 23, 2024. She was 68.
Dottie was born on July 24, 1956 in Waltham, MA. She grew up in Waltham and Concord, MA, graduating from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1974. She earned an associate's degree from Middlesex Community College, and then, her medical technology degree at Mount Wachusett College. She worked for 28 years at Atrius Health in Concord.
After marrying Charles Wuorio in 1982, the couple built a home in Bolton, MA in 1991, the same year they had their daughter Britney. Her late son Joshua was born in 1993, followed by Daniel 1995. In 2020, they sold the house in Bolton to retire in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, otherwise called "their happy place". She was also active in the social group known as the "Housewives of Pawleys Island".
She loved traveling, walking the family dog Vinny, shopping and volunteering. Always committed to helping others, she often sponsored children from third world countries. Britney and Dottie once took a trip to visit a family she sponsored in Nicaragua. Dottie also loved to clean. She was always cleaning and found peace in it.
She will be forever missed by her husband of 42 years, Charles Wuorio, her daughter, Britney, her son, Daniel, two brothers, Peter and Robert, her dog, Vinny along with many dear friends. In addition to her son Joshua, she was predeceased by her parents, Veronica and William, and her brothers, Billy and Richard.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Dottie's life during visiting hours on Wednesday, December 18th from 4 to 7 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Interment will be private.
