Donald Henry Temme, 83, of Bedford, formerly of Concord died Tuesday August 30, 2011 at his Bedford residence. Born in Winside, Nebraska on January 12, 1928 he was the beloved son of Charles and Amelia (Rellman) Temme. He earned his Bachelors of Science at University of Nebraska before serving in the Air Force from which he left with a rank of Captain. He received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT. Mr. Temme was a retired Section Leader at MIT Lincoln Lab in Bedford where he worked for 40+ years. He was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an active member of the Carlton-Willard community where he was active in the Environmental/Energy committee and advocacy / efforts to prevent global warming. He enjoyed classical music, technology issues and walking. Survivors include his wife, Judy of Bedford, his sister, Lois of Omaha, Nebraska, his sons, Bruce Temme of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Steve Temme of Boston, and Paul Temme of Houston, Texas.
Cemetery:
Interment will occur Tuesday, September 27th at 1 PM in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Concord's town flag will fly at half-staff on Tuesday in recognition of Mr. Temme's service to his country in the U. S. Air Force.
Service:
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 27th at 3:15 pm at Carleton-Willard Village at 100 Old Billerica Road in Bedford, MA in the main auditorium.
