After 14 years of exerting her will over cancer, Deborah Abraham Lind died on August 13, 2011. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 9,1967 she was the daughter of Robert William Abraham and the late Kristin Joanna Abraham. After receiving her primary education in Concord, Massachusetts, Debby attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1989. She continued her education and was awarded a Doctoral Degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas in 1997. Debby's love for all found her frequently being caretaker and listener. Once a friend of Debby you were a lifelong friend. She always had a special greeting for all regardless of their role in life. It was only natural that she pursued a career in assisting others. A licensed psychologist, she worked in a variety of settings over the years, most recently working for the Veterans Administration. Her trademark with her clients was her ability to connect and create a therapeutic alliance. Debby excelled in her professional career, helping many people with their struggles and personal battles. Most, if not all, of those people never knew of the pain she faced day in and day out due to her illness. Debby's passions included cooking and healthy living. An excellent cook, she was always concerned about good nutrition. She was a natural in the kitchen. She spent many hours exploring the possibilities of food, often without a recipe, and never making the exact preparation twice. Additionally, she was dedicated to physical fitness and enjoyed aerobics. Even with the challenges of managing advancing cancer, Debby adapted and changed her workouts to walking and yoga. Debby embraced life and was not defined or defeated by health-related obstacles that would have slowed many. With both determination and grace, she experienced life on her own terms and was an inspirational to all. Debby is survived by her husband Michael James Lind of Orlando, Florida and by her father Robert William Abraham of Concord, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Noel Martinez of Des Moines, Iowa; her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Susan Abraham of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; her brother and sister-in-law David Abraham and Deborah Ross of Alta, Utah; and sister-in-law Kathleen Lind of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is the beloved daughter-in-law of Carl and Elaine Lind of Sandy, Utah. Additionally, she is loved dearly by her nieces and nephews Jenny and John Abraham; Christian and Maria Martinez; and Lainie Shapiro.
