Deborah Brown

Jul 4, 1955 — Oct 17, 2026

Deb Ann Brown (née Sablone), 71, of Concord, Massachusetts, died on the morning of October 17, 2026, holding the hand of her longtime companion, David Smith.

Born on July 4, 1955, at Emerson Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Secondo “Al” Sablone and Irene (Lynch) Sablone.

Deb and her older sister, Carole, grew up roaming the woods of Concord, much like the Alcott sisters did generations before them, sharing a childhood shaped by outdoor adventures and dreams of the futures that lay ahead. Those early years reflected Deb’s independent spirit and enduring love of the outdoors.

A graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School, Deb was an accomplished equestrian who taught riding at camps in Vermont, Maryland, North Carolina, and Florida, as well as in Lincoln and Concord. She owned many horses throughout her life, most notably her beloved Christopher, and shared her passion for riding with generations of young riders. Deb had a wonderful way with children and retained a playful, youthful spirit, a quality her niece and grandnephews will remember fondly.

Exceptionally intelligent and mechanically gifted, Deb’s family would often comment that she had the ability to take apart a car and put it back together herself. She was fiercely independent and strong-willed, qualities that gave her the confidence to forge her own path and the determination to do things her own way.

She is survived by her sister, Carole Gnatowski; her brother-in-law, Philip Gnatowski; her niece, Philana Gnatowski; her grandnephews, Everett and Wyatt, all of Lincoln; and her partner, David.

Her ashes will be laid to rest near Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea, along with the ashes of her beloved cat, Milo; dog, Juo-Juo; and bird, Louie.

She will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.
