Obituary

Deborah J. (Rushe) Brooks, 65, of Dunstable, formerly of Concord, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond G. Brooks who died in 1993. Born in Concord on February 15, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Bernard J. and Jeanne M. (Patterson) Rushe. She attended Rose Hawthorne Central Catholic School, graduated in 1965 from Concord-Carlisle High School, and graduated in 1967 from Chandler School for Women. For over twenty years, Mrs. Brooks loved her job as a Layout Coordinator at New England Journal of Medicine in Boston where she was a dedicated employee. A longtime resident of Dunstable, she loved animals, horseback riding and especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved granddaughters. Survivors include her son, Scott R. Brooks and his wife Lori of Dunstable, her grand-daughters; Sara and Emily of Dunstable, Samantha and Allison Brooks and their mother Sophie Bedard, all of Nashua, NH, her sister, Cheryl McGivern and her husband David of Littleton, her nephew, Brian McGivern of Stoughton, her niece, Pamela McGivern Indorato of Westford, and her aunt, Elaine (Patterson) Toland of Acton. She was also the mother of the late Bernard R. Brooks who died in 2007. Cemetery: Burial will be in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. Visitation: Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 18th from 5 to 8 PM at the Dee Funeral Home. Service: Funeral from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center will be held on Wednesday, June 18th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 11:30 AM.
